Maritime Heritage CentreCultural AttractionThe Maritime Heritage Centre is home to the Seine Boat which graced the $5 bill from '72-'86. Walk her decks, explore her cabins and learn about her long history. Admission is $5; open 10am-4pm Monday to Friday and on weekends between June and August. Children under 6 are free.
Pier Street Historic Mile & Farmer's MarketCultural AttractionPier Street is the birthplace of the town. It showcases several heritage buildings. There are many interesting shops and the Pier Street Market is held every Sunday from May to September from 10am-2:30pm. The “Historic Mile” has made our history visible on more than 20 information panels with historical photos and chronicles from the past.
Dick Murphy Park (Tyee Spit)Recreational ActivityThis park features a multi-use path along the Discovery Passage that loops around to the estuary. There is also a playground with picnic tables and seasonal washrooms. Great spot for bird watching, beach fires and watching the marine traffic and sometimes whales!
Discovery Fishing PierRecreational ActivityCanada’s first salt water fishing pier is 600ft long. Concession is open from 7am-dusk, May through October. They are famous for their giant, delicious ice-cream cones! Equipment rentals are $3/hr or $6/half-day. The Pier is fully lit, open 24 hours, wheelchair accessible and has built-in rod holders, bait stands, fish cleaning tables, covered areas, picnic tables and benches.
