PRISMA stands for Pacific Region International Summer Music Association. Since the very first PRISMA Festival held in 2013, our organization has mentored over 500 students from 32 countries. Some have gone on to win principal positions in professional orchestras around the world; others enjoy busy careers as soloists, chamber musicians, and instructors. Many attend our PRISMA Academy on a full scholarship, thanks to the incredible generosity of Musical Merit Fund donors.

We aim for PRISMA to be the classical music festival of choice for professional musicians, high-quality students, and diverse audiences. Our collaborative environment nurtures both professional development and community engagement.

Powell River’s scenic location, combined with strong local support, is what makes the PRISMA Festival truly one-of-a-kind in the world. Enjoy daily musical events including orchestra and chamber music performances, masterclasses and limelight concerts – all open to the public. Prisma on the Beach – June 18-2022

The Rotary Bandshell at Willingdon Beach Park is the site of our annual PRISMA on the Beach concert, which entertains thousands of music-lovers from Powell River and beyond. Located in the heart of the city, the park offers a campsite, wharf, fishing pier, playground, museum and other amenities overlooking gorgeous ocean views of the Strait of Georgia. A popup village of vendors and artists at the event will ensure that there are plenty of dining options to suit your tastes, and the opportunity to pick up a local souvenir or two!
