British Columbia Ocean Boating Tourism Association is dedicated to marketing British Columbia’s indescribable coast as a boating destination. We are a non-profit Society, governed by a Board of Directors who represent BC coastal regions and segments of the marine tourism sector.
Our Vision
By 2022, British Columbia’s coast will be recognized domestically and internationally as a world-class boating destination, with a brand that is associated with safe boating, experiences of wild places, warm hospitality, plus a physical product and service quality that surpasses the expectations of visitors.
This website is designed to display British Columbia’s three coastal regions and eleven sub-regions. It includes travel planning features for boaters that will make planning your visit easier and your voyage safer.
BCOBTA works with the public and private sectors to improve marine tourism infrastructure, service quality and the experiences of boaters who visit our waters and lands.
BCOBTA supports safe boating. You will find links to weather and tide reports and to sources for navigational charts on this site. All marinas and harbours that take transient vessels are mapped, so you always know where the nearest port is.
BCOBTA encourages environmentally benign boating. You will find guidelines to marine travel ethics on this site.
BCOBTA respects the millennia long entitlement to territories by the West Coast First Nations. You will find a guide to Travel in First Nations Traditional Territories on the website.
Support for this website was provided by Destination British Columbia, Island Coastal Economic Trust, Coast Sustainability Trust and Northern Development Initiatives Trust. Increasingly, we are funded by revenues from the marine tourism sector.
