Description

“Shearwater Resort & Marina epitomizes the wild, but civilized coast of British Columbia. It is an oasis of comfort and hospitality in the Great Bear Rainforest, home of the Kermode bear and the most inaccessible portion of the province. This is where nature is little disturbed, 200 foot tall trees cover the mountainsides and sea-life is abundant. Shearwater is a base for exploration of this grand, quiet refuge, where your eco-adventure of a lifetime awaits.

Our location on Denny Island was chosen 70 years ago because this is one of the world’s richest fishing grounds. Our inclusive fly-in packages are the ultimate in first class fishing getaways; or pick our BC Ferries Sports Fishing Package; an inexpensive alternative that gives you the same unbelievable fishing and eco-tour opportunities. View our marina’s livecam.

Shearwater’s wide variety of fishing, travel & lodging options assures that we are able to put together a custom package that perfectly suits you. We have two lodge hotels at Shearwater, an RV Park/Campground, plus retreat homes on water and on land. Fisherman’s Bar and Grill and our Pub provide for your culinary and social needs. Our tidy marina has transient moorage for sailboats and power boats, fuel dock, marine repair shipyard, haul out and boat lift area.

Shearwater is more than a resort. It is a thriving village with grocery store, liquor store, hardware store, laundromat, BC Ferry Terminal, boat rentals and all of the bait, tackle and fishing licenses. There is even a Sacred Cedar Spa to help you unwind.

It doesn’t get any more wild and civilized than this
